Straight Side Press Families: D1N, D2N, M1N, S2N, T2N
Straight side presses close the frame into a welded box. This manufacturer's straight side crank line has five series: single crank D1N (80-260 t) and M1N (125-800 t), two-point D2N (110-800 t) and T2N (400-1,200 t), and the four-point eccentric S2N (400-1,600 t). The EM2 servo straight side press (110-630 t) is tabled on the servo page and the Y1H hydraulic H-frame on the hydraulic page. Common published features across the crank families: one-piece welded steel frames, high-torque low-noise clutch and brake, forced lubrication with monitoring, and hydraulic overload protection; GB (JIS) Class 1 precision is stated in the D1N and M1N tables — the D2N table states GB/JIS precision without a class, and the S2N and T2N tables carry no precision-grade row.

The D1N is the entry straight side press: a closed frame at C-frame money, documented for small parts at high single-stroking rates or in continuous mode from blanks or coil, and for easy adaptation of automation equipment.

On the D2N-400 the manufacturer publishes three slide and bolster size options (A, B and C above); on the D2N-500 it publishes two (A and B). A note on how those letters are assigned: the manufacturer's table prints the option sizes in a single flattened sequence rather than in labelled columns, and the assignment above follows the order of that sequence — the 400 takes options A, B and C, the 500 takes A and B. Read the letters as an interpretation of the published table's sequence order, not as a resolved specification: have the exact slide and bolster size for your die confirmed by the manufacturer in the quotation, where the option itself is fixed. The D2N page documents an extra-wide, centred, six-point full-length box gib slide guide, twin-cylinder pneumatic die cushions from 3.6 x 2 to 14 x 2 tons, and suitability for long, narrow parts and progressive dies needing a longer bed. (One source quirk, for the record: the manufacturer's D2N table prints “100” in the capacity cell of the D2N-110 column; the series is published as 110-800 tons and the model designations are used throughout this site.)

The M1N page documents the applications that separate a heavy single crank press from a gap frame: drawing, bending, marking, flattening and trimming of larger parts, at high single-stroking rate or continuously, with a high-performance wet clutch available and six-side or eight-side long slide guides. (Note: the manufacturer's table prints the M1N-800 bolster thickness truncated; the 1,800 x 1,300 mm face size is as published and the full figure is confirmed in the quotation. The same model's variable SPM cell is printed as a date, “10月20日”; the 10-20 shown above, marked * in the table, is a presumed restoration of that value — treat it as presumed, not as a resolved specification, and have it confirmed by the manufacturer when quoting.)

The S2N is a crank-driven eccentric-gear press: four pressure points, eight-side long guide rails, a monobloc or three-division frame depending on model, and die space that runs parts left-to-right and front-to-back on progressive or transfer systems — documented for automotive parts, large odd-shaped parts and deep-formed products. The two figures in each options column belong to the model's two published configurations. (Source note: in the manufacturer's S2N table the die-height row is headed “Max. upper die weight” but carries millimetre values; the separate kilogram row gives maximum upper die weights of 3,000-12,000 kg. The millimetre figures are reproduced above as die height, consistent with their position and unit. The S2N-1600's second SPM option is likewise printed as a date, “12月20日”; the 12-20 shown above, marked * in the table, is a presumed restoration of that value — treat it as presumed, not as a resolved specification, and have it confirmed by the manufacturer when quoting.)

The T2N uses a three-division frame (which can be disassembled into three parts for delivery) with two-point drive and eight-side guidance, documented for progressive dies and transfer systems on large parts, and the manufacturer states larger table sizes can be made to customer requirements. The D1N single crank series (80-260 tons; stroke 150-250 mm in S variants and 70-150 mm in H variants; die height 340-550 mm; bolsters 930 x 550 to 1,530 x 840 mm; motors 7.5-22 kW) shares the C1N feature set in a closed frame and is summarised in the series overview on the mechanical press page. For dies that outgrow even these beds, the manufacturer states bed dimensions can be customized — see the selection guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Two-point or four-point drive — what changes?
The number of connection points driving the slide. The two-point series (D2N, T2N, C2N) are the documented layouts for long dies; the S2N page states its four-point eccentric press is designed to run large dimension dies in both directions — left to right and front to back — and to run progressive or transfer dies, with the drive applied at four points on the slide.
What is the largest die a straight side press here can take?
The S2N-1600 publishes slide and bolster areas up to 6,000 x 1,800 mm and die height options to 1,400 mm; the T2N-1200 publishes a bolster up to 5,000 x 1,800 mm. Custom bed dimensions are offered in the manufacturer's customization statement.
D2N or M1N at 250 tons?
Same frame family, different drive: the D2N drives the slide at two points for long dies and progressive work; the M1N is the heavy single crank for drawing, bending, marking and trimming of larger parts. Die length and load centre are the enquiry inputs behind that choice.
Are straight side presses available with servo or hydraulic drive?
Yes — the EM2 servo straight side press (110-630 t) and the Y1H H-frame hydraulic press (1,000-16,000 kN) are the same frame concept with different drives, tabled on their own pages.
