Double Crank Presses: Two-Point Series for Long Dies

Two crank points spreading the drive across the slide: the C2N, D2N and T2N two-point series from 110 to 1,200 tons.

Double Crank Presses in This Range

A double crank press drives its slide from two crank points, with the drive applied at two positions along the slide. Three published series in this range use the layout: the C2N C-frame two-point press (110-315 tons), the D2N straight side two-point press (110-800 tons) and the T2N straight side two-point press (400-1,200 tons). The manufacturer's platform catalogue also lists a C-frame double crank press of 110-315 tons for automatic punching production lines — the C2N class of machine, documented with six-point slide gibs and connection to an automatic feeding line.

Selected per-model specifications are published on the C-frame press page (C2N) and the H-frame press page (D2N, T2N), including bolster and slide areas per model — the figures a long die is matched against.

Why Two Crank Points

A progressive or transfer die spreads its stations — and its load — across the full width of the bolster. A single crank press drives the slide from one centre point; a double crank press drives it from two points spaced along the slide. The published construction of the two-point series: six-point, full-length box-type gibs on the C2N and D2N, and eight-side long guide rails on the T2N; the D2N page documents long, narrow parts and progressive dies that need the longer bed area, on long dies with multiple stations. The T2N adds a three-piece frame construction that can be separated for transport and installation of the largest machines.

Documented Features of the Double Crank Series

  • Die cushions: pneumatic cushions are published across the two-point range, up to twin-cylinder cushions of 14 x 2 tons on the D2N table.
  • Overload protection: the fast-response hydraulic overload system is a published standard feature on the C2N, D2N and T2N pages.
  • Precision: the C2N table carries its own precision row, stated as JIS (CNS) 1class; the D2N table states GB/JIS precision without a class; the T2N table carries no precision-grade row — the grade for a specific model is confirmed in the quotation.
  • Line connection: the platform catalogue's double crank line listing documents connection with an automatic feeding line, an inverter, preset counter and electrical cam among its standard accessories.

The same factory's single crank series are on the single crank press page, and the four-point eccentric drive series is on the eccentric press page. Complete lines built around a double crank press are described on the stamping production lines page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What tonnage do double crank presses cover here?

110 to 1,200 tons across three series: C2N 110-315 t, D2N 110-800 t and T2N 400-1,200 t, all from the manufacturer's published tables.

What work are the two-point series documented for?

The documentation is stated series by series. The C2N page documents stamping relatively long, narrow parts and running progressive dies that need the longer bed area. The D2N page documents the same long, narrow work, including progressive dies on long dies with multiple stations. The T2N page documents running large dimension dies, and progressive or transfer dies. Which layout a given die is quoted on is settled in the enquiry against its width and load spread.

Do the two-point presses support transfer systems?

Stated series by series: the T2N page documents progressive or transfer dies, including large, odd-shaped or deep-formed parts that require a transfer system to move the part through the die. The C2N and D2N pages document progressive dies on long parts and do not list transfer dies.

What is the largest die a double crank press here takes?

Match it per model on the family pages: the T2N, the largest double crank series, runs to 5,000 x 1,800 mm slide and bolster area. Send the die footprint with the enquiry; the fit is read against the per-model slide and bolster tables.
